Lieutenant Colonel Serigne Abdou Aziz Sy Ndiaye is the conservator of national parks and deputy director of marine protected areas in Senegal. My academic background includes a degree in agronomy specialized in tropical agronomy obtained at Montpellier Sup'Agro, as well as a research master's degree in forest production, with an option in the management of spaces and wildlife resources from the Polytechnic University of Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. I also earned a diploma in agricultural engineering from the National School of Rural Executives of Senegal.
I have dedicated a significant part of my career to biodiversity conservation, with 17 years of experience in the Directorate of National Parks in Senegal. During this period, I held the position of National Parks Conservator, notably at the Saloum National Park and the Langue de Barbarie National Park. I also assumed several responsibilities as head of the Division, including the Division of Studies and Development, as well as the Division of Partnership and Nature Reserves, among others. More recently, I was appointed to the Directorate of Community Marine Protected Areas (DAMCP) as Deputy Director.
